Zeng Chao, as the design director of YDS Yao Xiaobing Design Institute, tailors every surprise design to give to the city.
Shortlisted for the top 50 of China's New Design Youth·Southwest Division, Zeng Chao brought a masterpiece of "New World by the River" to this competition. How does his design language touch people's hearts from the deepest level?

[NetEase Home] Why did you enter the design industry? What are your ambitions for your design career?
[Zeng Chao] Ever since I majored in design when I was studying, I have always wanted to own my own design company. After graduation, I started working and have been working hard for my career. My future goal is to hope that the design company can continue to grow bigger and stronger, so that my design can become a dazzling beauty in the city.
[NetEase Home] As a designer, what do you hope to bring to consumers through design?
[Zeng Chao] hopes to bring satisfaction and surprise to consumers through design. People-oriented, I believe that the primary design criterion for all designs should be the needs of the residents, and use the tools of design to bring them a happy and satisfying home environment.

[Netease Home] What is your design concept? How does your work tie into this design philosophy?
【Zeng Chao】The design is based on the residents’ own needs. Taking the entry "New World by the River" as an example, the design hopes to meet the residents' own needs through careful home decoration details and logical construction, while taking into account some of their usage habits and hobbies.

【网Easy Home] What do you think are the differences between Chengdu’s design compared to other cities across the country that have outstanding design performance? In what aspects are the advantages and disadvantages reflected? Specific to the interior design level, do Party A’s needs have certain regional characteristics?
[Zeng Chao] Across the country, compared to other regions, Chengdu has its own unique regional characteristics. Chengdu has a strong design atmosphere, and every building is full of humanities and local charm. In addition, when it comes to interior design specifically, customer requirements in the Chengdu market are very diversified, so designers need to adapt to needs when providing project services.
[NetEase Home] Where does the inspiration for your design works come from? What factors had a big influence on the formation of your design language?
【Zeng Chao】Inspiration comes from observation, and thinking brings ideas.
[NetEase Home] In your opinion, what are the conditions and advantages of good design?
[Zeng Chao] Unilateral design output is ineffective. I think good design requires more communication. At the level of details, we should consider it comprehensively and take care of every small need of users.
